The poster was made for export, and used in e.g., GDR.
The release of Solaris in the Soviet Union was very limited;
there is no known Russian-language (cyrillic) poster, according to
some sources.
Solaris was a Category 3 release, which is the smallest limited
release possible, with only 2 to 5 screening rooms in the whole
country, limited time, almost no marketing. The movie was
presumably considered "too artsy."Original Soviet poster
