CALL FOR PAPERS:

Tarkovski International Conference

Athens
6-8 December 2002


The Tarkovski Institute of Moscow, the Byzantine Museum of Athens and
the Society for International Cultural Relations are organizing an
international conference with the following theme:

"Andrei Tarkovski: Man, Nature and God"

The conference venue is the Byzantine Museum of Athens, and it will take
place between 6-8 December 2002.

Among the topics to be discussed are:

- Tarkovsky's relation with the Russian tradition and with traditions of other countries.
- Art, the responsibility of the artist.
- Science and Morality.
- The woman: eros, maternity and sexuality.
- God, faith, ontology, anthropology, the relation with nature
- Psychology: guilt and repentance.
- Aesthetic aspects in the work of Tarkovsky.

The conference is going to be conducted in English, Russian and Greek.
The proceedings of the conference will be published.
