Filippo Schillaci
Locations of Nostalghia
Filippo Schillaci has had an interest in photography and cinematographic language since 1996. His attention is particularly focused on the expressive capabilities of cinema as (sound-)visual art. He has, in particular, closely examined the work of Andrej Tarkovskij, Bela Tarr, Theo Anghelopoulos, Franco Piavoli, and Godfrey Reggio. Similar to established methods of approaching literature, he makes, in the analysis of the cinematographic work, use of quantitative methods based on graphic representations.
Supplemental contributions by Norman Mozzato and Nicola Severino.
